NGSS K-ESS3.A I Can't Live Here!

One day, Little Polar Bear's parents told him that it was time to find a new home. Little Polar Bear was sad. He liked his old home.

"Don't worry, Little Polar Bear," his mother said. "We'll find a new home that is even better than this one."

Little Polar Bear and his family set out to find a new home.

First, they stopped in a forest.

"This home has a nice stream. We can catch fish here," said Little Polar Bear's mother.

"But the stream isn't deep enough. I can't swim in it," said Little Polar Bear. "I can't live here."

So Little Polar Bear and his parents continued their search.

Next they stopped to look at a cave in the desert.

"This cave has a nice floor to sleep on," said Little Polar Bear's father.

"But the desert is much too hot. I need cold weather. I can't live here," said Little Polar Bear.

So Little Polar Bear and his parents continued their search.

Next, they stopped in a field next to a big lake.

"This lake is deep enough. You can swim in it," said Little Polar Bear's mother.

"Yes, but it doesn't have the kind of fish I like to eat," said Little Polar Bear. "I can't live here."

Little Polar Bear's parents were becoming tired. They decided they would try one more spot.

Little Polar Bear's parents stopped on a glacier. It was cold. It was surrounded by water. It had the fish Little Polar Bear liked to eat.

"This is perfect," said Little Polar Bear. "I can live here."

So the glacier became Little Polar Bear's new home.
