Who is Hillary Clinton?

Hillary Rodham was born on October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Chicago. Her father ran his own drapery business. Her mother was a homemaker. Hillary also had two younger brothers.

In school, Hillary Rodham was a good student. She participated in many athletic activities. She was also vice-president of her class during her junior year. During high school, Hillary Rodham also developed an interest in politics. She even had the opportunity to work as a volunteer for different political campaigns.

After high school, Hillary Rodham attended Wellesley College. There, she was a political science major. After graduating, she attended Yale Law School. While at Yale, she registered as a Democrat. She also met her husband, Bill Clinton.

Hillary Rodham married Bill Clinton on October 11, 1975 and officially became Hillary Clinton. They moved to Bill Clinton's home state of Arkansas. There, they became involved in state politics. In 1978, Bill Clinton became the governor of Arkansas and Hillary served as First Lady. On February 27, 1980, Bill and Hillary Clinton had a daughter named Chelsea Clinton.

Hillary Clinton also worked as a lawyer in Arkansas. In 1992, Bill Clinton was elected President of the United States. Hillary Clinton served as First Lady and also headed a health care task force.

After Bill Clinton's term as president ended, Hillary Clinton became more involved in politics. She ran for a Senate seat in New York in 2000 and 2006. She won both times. She served on many committees in the Senate. In 2008, Hillary Clinton ran for President of the United States. She lost the Democratic Nomination to Barack Obama. After the election, Barack Obama appointed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. She served as Secretary of State until 2013.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton became the Democratic nominee for President and ran for office against Donald Trump.
