Job summary:, an education platform for teachers, tutors, and homeschooling parents, is seeking a Freelance K-12 Science Question Writer with teaching experience to create K-12  science questions and worksheets.

We are looking for a K-12 science writer with the following qualifications:

  • Specialized knowledge in K-12 science, including a degree in education or a scientific field
  • 3+ years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in elementary or middle school science
  • Ability to write grade-appropriate science questions and create science worksheets for grades K-8
  • Ability to review and edit question items to assess grade level appropriateness, answer correctness, copyedit as needed, and assign DOK levels
  • Self-motivated and able to meet performance goals under limited supervision

Desired Qualifications:  

  • Familiarity with DOK levels
  • Previous experience editing and/or writing K-12 science assessment items for the education market
  • Experience working with NGSS standards

This is a freelance, contract role. All work is done remotely. We are looking for 5-10 hours of your time per week for the next few months. For the right candidate, there is the potential for additional work beyond this project, including moderating user content, creating video lessons, and writing blog articles.
