Look at the picture. The volcano is erupting. Lava flows down its sides. Gases release into the air. Most eruptions happen quickly. We can see the volcano erupting.
Some Earth events happen quickly. A quick event is one you see happening. It may happen over a few minutes, hours, or days. Some Earth events happen slowly. A slow event is one that you may not see happening. It may take place over many years.
