If you're reading a text and don't know the meaning of a word, you have a few options.You can:
- try to figure out the meaning from other words on the page
- ask someone what the word means
- look up the meaning in a dictionary
A dictionary is a book full of words and their definitions, but that's not all the information a dictionary contains.
