When talking about circuits, a string of holiday lights is often used as an example to differentiate between a series or a parallel circuit. You have one string of lights that won't light at all, and the other string is lit with 2 bulbs not working. Which string of lights includes a parallel circuit, and which has a series circuit? How do you know?
