Simon wants to estimate the width of a pond. The widest part of the pond runs directly north-south. Simon, standing at the northernmost part of the pond, begins walking in a direction of S43°E. After he has walked about 21 m, he stops. Looking towards the southernmost end of the pond, he starts walking. He walks 25 m, and then reaches the southernmost end of the pond.
