What are some advantages of going right instead of left around an obstacle?
- If the shoulder is paved, going right may be best. No one is ever on the shoulder, someone could be passing you on the left.
- There is no advantage.
- It is much easier to turn a truck to the right than it is to the left. It is good to make a habit out of going the same way every time.
- If you are blocked on both sides, a move to the right will not force anyone into an opposing traffic lane and a possible head on collision.
