Expert systems are softwares that attempt to provide an answer to a problem, or clarify uncertainties where usually experts would be needed to solve. To simulate the performance of a human expert the software can:
1)Use a Knowledge base which provdes the means for the computerized collection, organization, and retrieval of knowledge; the data held here is then processesed by the Inference engine or
2)Use Knowledge engineering , which is a discipline that involves integrating knowledge into computer systems in order to solve problems which usually require human expertise.
